Purchasing great makeup while still a on Budget

Happy Wednesday err’body!!

This article relates to the one posted yesterday which discussed ways to shop when on a budget. However, you may feel that now if you have limited bucks in the bank, the products you have to buy won’t be as good. This isn’t true and you can still have great products!

Let’s check how!

  • Take a look through your makeup bag and separate the products you use on a regular basis from the products which just roll around at the bottom of your bag. You then realize which products are your need and which ones you never actually use.

  • Work on ways to cut down the NUMBER of products you use. This will allow more money for savings. For example, if you a girl that doesn’t really wear foundation, why not use a tinted moisturiser with a SPF?

  • Start to downgrade. If you currently buy products from brands such as MAC or Clinique then try switching to high-street brands instead, many of them still offer a good finish, and you can usually find a cheaper substitute for what you're currently using. You can always switch back to your favourite brand when you get enough money in the bank. High-street brands are products in Dischem, Clicks etc.

  • Research!! Before you shop for your needed goodies, look online for reviews. If the majority say its rubbish, then it probably is, and you'll be saving yourself money. This will help you to avoid buying a product which makes you break out or doesn't blend or only lasts five minutes, which would probably result in you buying another similar product just a couple of weeks later. This really helps!

  • Be sneaky. If you super low on funds (usually only the more expensive brands do this) and you don’t want to spend money on a product right now that you may not like, then try go to a makeup store and say you're interested in buying a particular product, but would like a tester to make sure it's right for you before you buy it.

  • Test shades properly. If you need some advice with colour shades, always ask a shop assistant for help (rather be safe than sorry!). When testing foundation, check it on your jawbone, not on your wrist or the back of your hand.

Tips

Bear in mind that by saving money now, you'll be better off in the future, so then you'll be able to buy whatever brands you like.

Try and get used to wearing less and less make up until your list of make up that you use every day is minimal.

Ask friends and research online to find the best cheap products available in your area.

I hope these steps and tips help just a tad, after all payday is here for most!
